A Study on Atomospheric Concentrations of SO₂ and TSP in Seoul

Abstract
|
|
|
The atmospheric concentrations of sulfur dioxide and total suspended particulates were investigated at 6 locations in Seoul from April. 1989 to February 1990. The results of the study are as follows.
1. The atmospheric concentrations of SO2 and TSP were 0.039 ppm, 140.1 ug/m3 respectively. And percents of over annual air quality standard of SO2 and TSP were 48.6%. 51.4% respectively.
2. Atmospheric SO2 concentrations by locations were that Munlae was 0.059 ppm and kwanghwamun was 0.045 ppm. And TSP concentrations by locations were that Mapo was 174.8 ug/m3 and Munlae was 174.2 ug/m3.
3. The priority of seasonal variation of concentration of SO2 were
Winter > Autumn > Spring > Summer and that of TSP were Winter > Spring > Autumn) Summer.
4. Coefficient of correlation of temperature and SO2 was R=-0.96(p<0.001) and that of temperature and TSP was R = -0.78 (p<0.01). And that of SO2 and TSP was R = 0.72(p<0.01)
